May and June have seen the house under attack by winter lurgies. Jacob had 2 weeks off school with a wicked cough, Eli has had enough snot to feed a 3rd world country, and survived his first Childhood Illness- hand, foot & mouth, which kept him pretty miserable for 3 days. Even Trev had a week off work sick, which is unprecedented!
Other than that, it's been a good few weeks. Eli goes to playgroup on Friday mornings (with Mum, he's not quite up to driving yet!) and even manages to play with the other kids- he initially would barely tolerate them sharing his space, unless they were handing him food, but he regularly plays with a little boy called Dustin, and last week played up a storm with Sherritt's gorgeous girls, Izzy & Elli. We also swim Monday mornings (when he's not too snotty, though the chlorine does a GREAT job clearing his nostrils!!), he visits Godma Rozzi Tuesday mornings while Mum works, and we shop on Thurdsdays. On the weekend, he usually goes to the fruit markets with Trev, and sometimes to the golf club. This weekend, they're going to the RSPCA to get Kasey some food, and hopefully they'll have puppies or kittens behind the counter for him to visit.
Jacob's school finishes this Friday for the term, he gets an extra week break. This week has been a waste of time though, just watching movies and cleaning while the teachers write reports- private education! What a joke! He is HANGING out to go to Sydney with the Mullins' to see the Pope. A mate of mine Tez bought him a World Youth Day hoodie, which he (very quietly) loves, despite it being red, and not grey, brown or balck, the colour spectrum of the rest of his wardrobe! He's been doing some cool stuff at Youth, including a 12 hour computer party at the Barracks in Civic, and this week he's doing a "macca's race" from his church in Watson to McDonald's at Dickson. If he gets hit by a car, I'll kill him and his youth leaders!
I've officially registered my bath stuff as a business- "Dare to be Natural- natural bath, body & skin care". I have done one party demonstration, have another couple booked, and have a growing list of loyal customers, so hopefully that will take off. We longingly toy with the idea of heading off to a small country town somewhere, but Jacob will never speak to us again if we leave Canberra, especially now the Mullins family has FINALLY (almost) come home.
Hmmm, that's it in the Dare house.....
